Trained Montessori Toddler Guide

Lifetime Montessori School is growing!

We are seeking trained AMI A-to-I Guides interested in implementing an English/Spanish Bilingual Immersion vision of Dr. Montessori’s method.  We are looking for positive, mature and supportive colleagues interested in working in a bilingual, co-teacher setting.  

We are located in sunny San Diego and offer programs for children 18 months through age 12.

Montessori Guide Duties May Include:

  • Serve as a trained Montessori Guide for our Toddler program for children 18 months to 3 years.
  • Maintain a prepared environment.
  • Follow the school handbook and monitor appropriate use and care of equipment and materials.
  • Set limits and boundaries and maintain appropriately high standards for child behavior in the Montessori context.
  • Observe student activity and base lesson planning on observed needs and interests.
  • Monitor and evaluate student development and outcomes.
  • Prepare and present progress reports on all students.
  • Communicate effectively with students to ensure instruction and holistic development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff to ensure connection and commitment.
  • Participate in other school functions as requested by the Director.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Montessori Teaching Credential (AMI Assistants to Infancy diploma preferred; applicants can be currently training).
  • Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English (For Spanish Toddler Guides, fluency must be in Spanish)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. (We cannot sponsor Visas at this time).
  • Experience working with young children.
  • Flexible, helpful, outgoing and engaging attitude.
  • Willingness to support potty training.
  • Willingness to submit to a background check (required by licensing).

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working as a Montessori Guide (not required). 
  • Possess a desire to connect a community of staff, parents, and students to our vision.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility in addressing children’s needs.
  • Excellent observation skills.
  • Ability to listen and be present.
